Welling Mathematics A single number line A single number line works by way of a very simple format. Real numbers, whole numbers, and integers. Real numbers are 1-10; which produces a basic set of numbers and allows for basic calculations. The 1-10 can most easily be associated with the application of the 10 fingers on our hands. The very beginning and basics of counting. Whole numbers are 0-9, which the addition of the 0 allows for all complicated math to come. Integers is where negative are added to the left of the 0 and all the numbers to the right of the 0 the aforementioned 1-9 become positive numbers.
